This should come as no surprise to most parents (and if it a surprise, who are you and do you really exist?), but babies have no sleep schedule. None at all. Zero. Doesn’t happen.
Some nights, Colette will happily sleep for four hours. Then, she’ll eat and fall right back asleep for another three. These are incredible nights and the days that follow are filled with happy moods.
Other nights, like last night, are something else altogether. We went to sleep around 11:00pm. Colette woke around 2:00am. No big deal, right? Wrong. She absolutely refused to fall asleep after that, unless she was cuddling with Bethany. If we placed her back in her crib, she would grunt and cry until we came and got her.
All things considered, she has been a pretty easy baby so far. We’re counting down the weeks until she sleeps through the night – the internet tells us that happens around three months. Then again, some babies apparently don’t fall into a routine until waaaaay after that.
Today, she mostly slept. We’ve heard that sleep begets sleep, so here’s hoping.
Halloween is tomorrow. Colette is a ladybug this year. Many pictures will be taken.
